Fiber artist Diane Itter. She emerged in the 1960s creating bright colored fine threaded pieces. Each work took her about one to one-half weeks of 8 to 10 hour workdays.
These past few fiber posts have been blowing my mind! All the weaving stuff is extra close to my heart these days... the amount of time and work that goes into pieces like this, SO amazing and special!!
I was fortunate (blessed) to have been a friend of Diane back in the mid-sixties in Pittsburgh. She taught me macramé, before this amazing work, though. She was working on a guitar strap then, like many of us did. But no one has done anything like her linen work, I think.
Wonderful blog, I'm so delighted, thank you!
